Wireless Broadband
A radio link is adopted to access the Internet between the user PC and the service provider’s facility. An antenna is required to be installed at the receiving end. This type of service is more suitable between buildings and houses where land line telephone cables or TV coaxial cables are not installed. This technology is also adopted to provide broadband Internet access in remote or sparsely populated areas.
Wireless broadband services are becoming more and more popular at airports, city parks, bookstores, and other public locations called “hotspots.” A short range wireless technology, Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi), in conjunction with DSL or cable broadband is used in the hotspots.
Now the wireless broadband service is also entering in to the mobile phone services and are most suitable for highly mobile customers. Generally such services provide a lower speed.
