Cable Broadband

Cable operators  provide cable broadband  service using the same coaxial cables that transmit pictures and sound to the TV sets at homes. Now a days the cable companies offer television and telephone packages combined with  broadband Internet services. Cable modems are required to receive cable broadband. The cable modem has two output connections, one for cable TVs and the other for computers. This type of connection offer a speed of 1.5 Mbps or more. Cable user can  access the Internet by simply switching ‘ON’ the computers. The transmission speed depends upon the type of cable modem. cable network, and traffic load.  About 45% of the UK homes and business houses adopt  Cable TV, telephone and cable Internet as a single package.
